Presentation Event of the World Bank Salary Survey Findings

The findings of 2011 salary and compensation survey conducted for the World Bank was presented on May 3, in Marriott hotel for the survey participants. The presentation was also attended by the World Bank Armenia team and the Head of Compensation and Benefits Unit of the World Bank Group via video conferencing. The overview of the Armenian economy, followed by the survey methodology and findings were presented by Tatevik Zohrabyan, principal at Baker TIlly Armenia.

Salary and compensation survey has been offered by Baker Tilly Armenia since 2002. One of the largest clients for this service is the World Bank Group for which we have continuously been conducting this service. The more recent salary survey conducted for the World Bank was for the fiscal year of 2011. Thirteen leading organizations and companies in Armenia participated in the survey, covering the public, consulting, banking, IT and telecommunications sectors.

Overall, the salaries are on upward sloping direction ever since the financial crisis unraveled. There were distinct differences between the HR policies and pay structuring of public and private sector organizations. The benefits and compensation packages are also differently designed for companies of different sectors. In the nutshell, results provided compelling case for remuneration adjustment; however, it is up to individual companies to decide on incentive-inducing schemes for their employees.
